200 Years of Ermoupoli - SYROS INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

On the occasion of the bicentenary of the city of Ermoupoli, this concert offers a musical journey through three emblematic dates. The year 1826 marks the early voices of Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin, major figures of Romanticism. The year 1926 opens a window onto America with the jazz of George Gershwin. Finally, 2026 brings a contemporary perspective with new arrangements of traditional Greek melodies.

In this programme, Sofia Avramidou reveals another facet of her artistic identity — as a singer and a specialist in traditional music.
