REQUIEM — GIUSEPPE VERDI

Monumental and profoundly spiritual, Verdi’s Requiem is a haunting mass for the dead. “Dies Irae” and “Libera me” are among the movements that plunge the listener into both terror and hope. A masterpiece celebrated for its sumptuous orchestration and striking choral writing.

Opening the programme, Sofia Avramidou’s La Prière unfolds as a prayer of fear inspired by the philosophical tale Le Monstre by Ágota Kristóf, suspended between fragility, anguish and inner ritual.
